This was a fun book with a very good message. I don't know much about age groups, but as an adult I liked it and will purchase hardback copy for my Granddaughter.

I am pleased to share a review of this sweet childhood story. I am an elementary teacher, and have a love for children's books, and this one does not disappoint. It will grab your child's imagination, as they read (or listen to) the story of Ray, his best friend, Adam, and Violet the Lightning Bug, who communicates with them using Morse Code. "Ray's Violet" brings back memories of summer nights, capturing lightning bugs and wind chimes, A joy to read.

Ray's Violet is a wonderful page turner, free to allow the imagination to flow. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book even as an adult. It reminded me of my childhood; summer nights spent catching fireflies on my grandparents farm. How I missed those days. My daughter certainly loved the book as one of the character's, Violet, created a little mischief here and there. The creative ideas Violet came up with to help Ray and his family was interesting, yet very inventive. I do hope to read more adventures of Ray and Violet in the future.

This story captures the heart of the type of adventure I wanted as a child. I wanted to find a magical creature that was my special friend and looked out for me. The boy in the story, Ray, found a true friend in his mysterious and magical Violet. I hope there are more adventures for Violet!

This book is not only a great read for a children but it will overwhelm those that grew up in the 1980's with nostalgia.

This little story had friendship and magic and love. I would guess it to be about 4th or 5th grade level, but I loved it myself. So did my grandson.

Two best friends Adam and Ray head outside one night to catch lightning bugs, but instead they catch something entirely different! A little purple Violet! And boy is she mighty hungry and mischievous!

If you’re looking for a fun book to read to your children of a night at bedtime, then you’ll love Ray's Violet.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much!
